Warning: adorable dogs ahead. Scroll on for big smiles and warm fuzzies.
If you have a fur baby (or a scaly or feathered baby), you’ll know how it feels to have a non-human family member. If a wedding is the coming-together of two people, two lives and two families, then it doesn’t make sense for the fuzzies to miss out just because they aren’t people.
Bec and Dave totally get this – which is why they chose to have their beagle Toby and daschund Bella join them for their ceremony and bridal portraits. The old adage may say “never work with kids or animals”, but Toby and Bella were model bridal party members and brought so much life and happiness to the celebration.
I love that Bec and Dave weren’t afraid to make their day work for them and schedule their bridal portraits (and some family shots) before the ceremony. With no rushing, minimal nerves and perfect mid-afternoon sunshine, we spent a beautiful hour making pictures before Bec walked down the aisle. With a cosy headcount of around 45 guests, also it meant they could send the puppers home after the ceremony and go straight on to party with everyone they love.
One detail I really loved was Bec’s upcycled suitcases as the wishing well – those suitcases belonged to her mother in her school days, and grandma Dorothy was very surprised and delighted to see them featured on such a special day.
