Sometimes, despite my best-laid portrait session plans, the weather forecast says “storm”. Sometimes it’s wrong (or your timing is just right). This was one of those times!
The lovely Katrina, previously a well-established Darwin family photographer herself, visited the Hastings Point with her whole family over Christmas and I was overjoyed to be the one she chose to capture the occasion. They travelled from right across Australia to be here, so a stormy sky was not going to deter us from a fun family session, and getting those amazing photos. There’s no rescheduling reunions.
I arrived super-early and watched the clouds drift over, but those clouds respected our arrangement and didn’t let a single drop fall on our portrait parade. We even got a window of golden sunshine to act as a spotlight for the kids cartwheels and fishy faces!
As I was driving home the heavens opened and the deluge started, but it couldn’t dampen my mood. This session was perfect.
