It’s impossible to pick a highlight from Kristie and Phil’s wedding day – there were so many exceptional moments. Kristie’s mum pinning the veil she handmade into her daughter’s hair, and being walked to her seat at the ceremony by her totally gentlemanly now-son-in-law. The sense of adventure as we piled into 4-wheel drives to charge up slippery slopes to the perfect bridal portrait location bathed in golden afternoon sun, and the following portrait session full of real joy and laughter. The pride in Phil’s parents’ eyes during his father’s speech, and the way the couple’s family and friends came together to make the reception a candle-lit, deliciously catered, floral-drenched wonderland. Phil’s adorable rendition of Elvis Presley’s “Teddy Bear” to his bride, accompanied by Kristie’s favourite teddy, and her father’s touching serenade of the same song he sang to his own bride on their wedding day. I won’t lie – I teared up many times watching Kristie and Phil’s day unfold. I’m so glad to have been the one to capture it.
The girls got ready at Valleymars in Duranbah, the ceremony and reception were held at Bray Park Seventh-day Adventist Church and bridal party portraits were taken on Kristie and Phil’s friend’s property in Kunghur Creek. Kristie’s hair and makeup by Tina and Kristen, her bridesmaids’ hair by her sister (and bridesmaid) Jolie and bridesmaids’ makeup by their lovely friend Sisi. All the incredible flowers were lovingly arranged by Floral & Mineral and the cake made by their friend Jono.
