It’s always the little things that I love most about a wedding day, that make it really personal and special and memorable. For Michael and Em, those little things were particularly incredible – Em’s surprise care package of chocolatey goodies for Michael in the morning, and Michael’s surprise flipper-tunnel reception entrance for Em. The boys’ friendly-but-occasionally-fierce ping pong tournament before they got ready, and the girls’ conversations harmonised by birds in the trees (and the magnificent cockatoo) at her mum’s place. The presence of their beloved pup Blossom, who passed just weeks before the wedding, in lockets on Em’s flowers, the ceremony readings and the tag from her collar on the cake table. The overwhelming pride in both of their fathers’ voices as they told the stories of their respective son and daughter’s formative years, and the perfect late afternoon sunshine that accompanied our bridal portrait session. Their day was as personal and as memorable as they come.
Special thanks to Kerry Nijam for her beautiful work officiating the ceremony, as ever, and the Cabarita Beach Surf Lifesaving Club for proving a fantastic space and a beautiful view for the reception.
