Baby Jude’s Newborn Family Photo Session
Baby Jude is a pretty cool dude. He’s only been here for a matter of weeks and he’s already got “charming” down pat, plus he’s been working on his super-dextrous toes party trick. We hung out on a cosy Friday morning with his mum and dad, who’ve graced the blog before (a few times), and got some snuggly cuddly photos - and a few porchtraits! Because a baby born in COVID times absolutely deserves a porchtrait - a portrait on the porch.
CJ and Jamie's Fingal Maternity Photo Session
Photographing CJ’s maternity session 22 years after we first met on a primary school playground was a serious honour. Not that I haven't taken hundreds of photos of CJ before - on disposable film cameras and 3 megapixel Olympus point-and-shoot cameras from 2005 not much better than a potato. But this is a Big Life Event, and being the one to record that for her was infinitely special. it's so obvious to me that these two are so in love, and ready for this big adventure.
Rhyannon & Tegan's Tweed Coast Country Forest Sisters Maternity Photo Shoot
Rhyannon and Tegan are a special kind of sisters - their mum passed away when they were young, so they've always stuck close, helping each other through tough moments and celebrating each other's high points. Now they're helping each other navigate their own paths through motherhood! I think it's fate, not coincidence, that they both fell pregnant a few weeks apart, and so special that they decided to celebrate with these special family portraits.
Gayattre, Ruwan and Sampson's Gold Coast Beach Pregnancy Announcement Maternity Shoot
The only thing better than a sunny beach maternity photo session is a sunny beach maternity photo session with a pupper! G and Roo chose their session to announce their pregnancy, with a big helping paw from their beloved doggo Sampson. We spent some time hanging out in the dunes at the Spit, playing in the water and watching a beautiful storm roll in over the Gold Coast - and I got to spend some time testing out the Sony A9, thanks to Sony Australia and the Iris!
Welcome Autumn! Brisbane In-Home Newborn Baby Photos
Cassie and Steve brought their precious daughter Autumn into the world exactly one year after they tied the knot - does this girl have great timing or what?! I love in-home newborn sessions - not just because you have everything you need to feed, change or swaddle Bub right on hand, but also because the location adds another level of meaning to the photos. To have those memories captured of your little one's tiniest days in the place where all the cuddles and gazing and first smiles and giggles happened will make these pictures much more special in five, ten or twenty years time - even if you've moved on to another home.
Cassie and Steve, and Bubbacado Makes Three
One year to the day after Cassie and Steve tied the knot, they welcomed their beautiful baby "Bubbacado" Autumn into the world. One week before THAT we spent a sunny spring morning in Brisbane's Botanic Gardens to capture their maternity photos, talking about Cassie and Steve's proudest moments together and the things they're most looking forward to about parenthood.
