The best part about this wonderful afternoon family session - besides making this collection of photos - was seeing how excited young Xavier and Ruby were to see the wildlife at the Mt Coot-tha botanic gardens. We saw turtles, caterpillars, kookaburras and SO many water dragons - it made me realise I really do need to go outside and touch some grass more often!

The Great Zylstra Family Reunion
As far as I’m concerned, 2022 is the year of the family reunion. With travel back on the cards, plenty of us are finally reuniting - just like the Zylstra family. I had the honour of helping them celebrate having four generations of family all together; we caught a glorious sunset at the Woody Point Jetty on a Saturday afternoon, and the vibes were so wonderful I was grinning the whole drive home.

I love the intimacy that’s inherent in having photos taken in your home, where all these special memories are really happening. Cuddles on the couch, Noel helping Jude slam dunk off the kitchen door frame, playing with blocks or reading books while Bec feeds Liam - all of those are real memories of things this family do together every day, and it’s so special that I got to help them capture that and hold onto it forever.
Celebrating Mason’s 1st Birthday - Whites Hill Reserve Family Photo Session
I absolutely adore this family. I’ve been lucky enough to see them grow! We spent an afternoon at the stunning Whites Hill Reserve capturing some family photos, spotting kookaburras and having some cuddles. Mason even had a go at my camera - scroll down to the bottom to see him wearing my lens hood as a hat!
Baby Jude’s Newborn Family Photo Session
Baby Jude is a pretty cool dude. He’s only been here for a matter of weeks and he’s already got “charming” down pat, plus he’s been working on his super-dextrous toes party trick. We hung out on a cosy Friday morning with his mum and dad, who’ve graced the blog before (a few times), and got some snuggly cuddly photos - and a few porchtraits! Because a baby born in COVID times absolutely deserves a porchtrait - a portrait on the porch.
